Bonaldo

A story of passion, research and quality that began in 1936.

A great passion for design gave birth to Bonaldo, a company established in Italy and internationally for the production of elegant designer furniture and accessories.

Tables, chairs, complements, sofas and beds are manufactured exclusively in Italy and exported all over the world, using the most modern technologies and valuable materials, carefully selected and certified for authenticity. The wide range of products is characterised by an eclectic and dynamic style, unique and unmistakable.

The Veneto-based company, based in Padua, was founded in 1936 as a craft business specialising in metalworking. It later expanded its production to bed bases and then to iron beds, inventing a folding bed base that would become a standard.

In 1971 Bonaldo participated for the first time in the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan and it was during this period that the important transition from a predominantly artisan activity to an industrial reality took place. In the following decade sofa beds and convertible sofas successfully entered production, followed by the first collection of beds. The range of furnishing proposals expands to include armchairs, chairs, tables and a wide variety of accessories. Export volumes abroad became more and more significant year after year, testifying to the affirmation of a brand that is loved not only in Italy but also by an increasingly international public.

In 2000 Bonaldo took its first steps into the world of design, inaugurating a successful series of collaborations with prominent designers that would become its characteristic element. The products became more sophisticated.

The creative contribution of talents such as Karim Rashid, Ron Arad, Bartoli Design, Massimo Iosa Ghini and Mauro Lipparini has enabled Bonaldo to collect important awards such as the Red Dot Design Award, the iF Design Award and the Good Design Award. Among the award-winning pieces are the Still and Octa tables by Bartoli Design, the Pebble coffee table by Matthias Demacker, the H2O table by Massimo Iosa Ghini, the Poly chair and the Flap table by Karim Rashid.

So far Bonaldo's most representative product, which has become a worldwide style icon, is certainly Big Table, designed in 2009 by Alain Gilles. Today more than 700 variants are produced (in different sizes, colours and materials), indicating the true dimensions of a success that shows no sign of waning.
In eighty years of activity, Bonaldo has created its own unmistakable style, based on a number of highly distinctive elements such as colour, harmony of form and line, functionality and comfort.

With a line that ranges from the most modern to the most refined and elegant products, Bonaldo has the right answer for every furnishing need, thanks to the variety and quality of its proposals, characterised by personality, dynamism and attention to detail. One of the company's prides is production entirely located in the Veneto region, using only local suppliers and workers, demonstrating a strong bond with the territory and its origins.
